The beautiful fishing village of Tembok is located on the northeast coast of Bali. Inland, gentle mountains covered in brilliant green paddy fields dominate the skyline and out to sea the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean lap the sun kissed shores.
Traditional occupations such as fishing and farming take precedence here and Balinese arts such as dancing and martial arts are practised in the area. The local jukong boats can be seen rolling into shore early in the mornings and the villagers come out to help haul in the fresh catches.
Only a little over an hour from the cultural centre of Ubud, mountain scenery of Lake and Mount Batur, and the famous ship wreck of Tulamben.
Tembok is a great base to explore Bali's tranquil northeastern region.
